How often should I get my eyes checked?

If you have been diagnosed with diabetes, glaucoma or age-related macular degeneration (AMD) it is recommended to be examined every 6-12 months.

If you have a family history of certain eye diseases such as glaucoma or macular degeneration it is recommended to be examined every 12-24 months.

Before Age 5 : As needed or recommended by a health professional. Age 6-17 : Annually. Age 18-65: Every 12-24 months. Age 65+: Annually.
